DON'S STORY HOUR
THE STORY HOUR BROCHURE
by
Donald P. Crivellone
I have developed a unique approach to increasing managerial and leadership skills in a fun atmosphere using real stories that represent strong messages.
Providing the attendees with the Handout >“THE STORY HOUR” attendees of an hour long presentation pick stories from the 58 provided. During the course of an hour approximately 25 stories can be discussed with an explanation of the message attached to the story. The attendees have no clue as to the story content, but quickly ask for one they believe has an unusual title that will deliver an interesting story . It is a very, very quick moving hour. The hour can be presented at “brown bag” luncheons, class room environments, staff meetings, conferences or any group meeting.

DON THE STORYTELLER
BRIEF HINTS TO 5 OF THE STORIES
Try it in London – a story that justifies installing the first intercontinental ATM in the world and very expensive ATM in our London office. After the explanation even the Chairman of First Interstate Bank thought 7 or 8 transactions per month were sufficient.
Guam > Hawaii > Carmel – spending a month on the island of Guam after finding a solution of a problem in 3 days made sense. And how the management of Bank of America made a lasting impression on a young officer.
Mike’s silver load – How a hidden treasure of 100 oz pure silver bars sent a strong message to the staff on contributing to profits at a critical time. Plus a major dent in the burl walnut board room table – “ouch.”
World’s most expensive coffee break - $886,000 was a terrible price to pay for a 15 minute coffee break.
The simplest phrase – Thank You (a complete hint)

TESTIMONIALS
Allen Torrico – Senior Vice President
Real world education. There's no textbook written or course curriculum constructed that comes close to the lessons you can learn from this veteran of the white collar war. Mr. Crivellone's stories chronicle the life of a man that most of us are trying to grow up to be. His humanistic approach at story telling makes it easy to absorb the wealth of knowledge that lies buried in these educational anecdotes. Learning has never been this painless.
Paul Brown - First Vice President
Experience is the best type of education. Don Crivellone provides management learning skills through his own life experience and accomplishments that is entertaining and real world. Each story comes from life experience with a message that managers can take back and apply to their job. His ability to share his insight will benefit all that listen/observe, learn, modify, and execute. How much was that coffee break?
Felix Masci – Financial Analyst
Most Management presentations can be high level, dry and unrelated to your job. Not so with Don Crivellone. He is giving us a chance to pick his brain and learn from his extensive experience. He has seen a thing or two and, boy, does he have a lot of stories to tell. But, not just boring stuff. Each little tid-bit is amusing and has something useful that you can keep and use later. The practical lessons of what to do in life as he learned it in the banking industry is not only insightful, but entertaining and funny. If you want to learn from someone else's mistakes and successes, have some fun and think outside of your cube, this is for you. This is serious Mentorship and I got a lot out of it. You will too.
Delcina Anderson – Contractor – MBA Candidate
Don, It was a treat to spend my lunch hour hearing real-life stories of how to be a better manager and more importantly, how to be a better person. I have observed that in the hustle and bustle of career advancement, the human aspect of personal interaction gets lost. A simple acknowledgement of 'Hi, how are you' never loses its impact on another individual. For too many people being the type of manager that you are is a sign of weakness. I sincerely regret that I was not ever fortunate enough to have worked for you. YOU ARE THE MASTER!!!
