This is not an "official" crest, even though there were several
"dons" in the family - the titles I suspect were given during the
Spanish Rule based in Naples. Am I don Don Crivellone?
As you read this and are curious where you fit into the Crivellone family, e-, email me at don@doncriv.com and I will try to help. Please give me as much information as possible, such as, the name of your mother and father, grandfather and grandmother, dates born and died. I do have on permanent loan from the Mormon Church history center here in Atlanta all the microfilms of the Municipal records (births, deaths and marriages) from the village of Cantalupo from 1809 to 1899.
I have a database of over 1,200 Crivellones and Barbieris (my mother and grandmother's family) including descendants and spouses. And this is "just a drop in the bucket." My data base includes everyone with the name Crivellone that I have found (so far), from around the world (including descendants and spouses). At the present time I have seven separate families of Crivellones. By far the largest group is Family One, the one that I am a member of, that starts with a gentleman called Agnello - 863. The detail of Crivellones under Agnello - 863 (that I have) are concentrated under Angel Antonio - 13; Silverio - 117 and Fillippo - 43
I hope one day we can connect all the Crivellone families. It is well documented that Antonio Crivellone was a leader in the war with San Massimo around 1510. As to the Barbieris, they all decend from Giovanni Barbieri - 61, from Bolzone Italy near Milano. His father was Vincenzo Barbieri.
The numbers following names are those assigned by my computer program. I an Donald P. Crivellone - 1.
The number that is in front of the name (2--, 3--, 4--) is the generation number, descending from the oldest known member of a specific family.
I am anxious to continue to learn about the members of our family and tie the separate families together. I have made great progress bringing all the names I have down to seven families. However I have a feeling that one day I (or some other Crivellone) may tie all the Crivellones to one or two Crivellones.
